The List of Numbers

Let's be honest, we don't know everyone's phone number.

If you have a phone try making a list of key contacts with addresses in case of an emergency. Put the list in your phone case! This is in case your phone doesn't work due to the battery running out. During an emergency you likely won't have a charger and you will want to contact family members to tell them that you are alright. With these numbers you will be able to contact them via a different device.

Check out this fun video to learn how to react in many situations!

If you don't have a phone still make the list. You may need to contact family members to tell them that you are alright. Keep this list somewhere you will always have it. Think of something you can keep it in that you take with you everywhere.

Try answering these questions!

What is the 3 C’s rule?

Why can’t you call local numbers in emergencies, sometimes? What can you do instead to contact your parents?

What should you do to prepare for a lack of supplies before an emergency?

Who can pick you up after an emergency at school? Can anyone?

What should you do if someone or a pet is stuck inside a house on fire? Should you try and save them? Think about the 3 c’s!

Here’s an easy one! Should you get in a car with someone you don’t know? Even if they say they know your parents.

When you are babysitting, should you let someone in the house that you were not informed of coming, excluding the parents? Even if the child says they know them.

Where should you go if you are home alone during an emergency? What neighbor can you go to?
